See the 2009 show!

The Cycle World International Motorcycle Show arrive in Seattle December 11-13

As the date gets closer for the 2009 Cycle World International Motorcycle Show in Seattle lots of great things are falling into place. Here's some of the highlights you'll experience at this years show. Considering the state of the economy, this is going to be a great year for deals. Read on.

  • New Models - While it's true that you can ride around to various dealers and see the newest models that are available on the market, the motorcycle show provides two additional reasons to see them there.

For starters many of the 2010 models haven't hit show room floors yet, so you'll be seeing them in the flesh for the first time. Honda's new NT700V and VFR1200F models are on the route as well as Kawasaki's new Z1000 and BMW's S1000RR.

"What?" you say. "BMW - I heard they won't be there." While it's true the factory truck won't be on hand, South Sound and Ride West will combine forces to present a factory like booth on the floor of the exhibit hall.

The other reason to see the newest models at the show is that it's you chance to compare new models during a single session for styling and ergonomics. Since no dealer carries every line of bike, there's no better way to compare and contrast the various models then at the show.

  • Ducati Free Style Team - Show promoter Advanstar does a top rate job every year of bringing in great talent to entertain attendees. This year they're doing something new by bringing in the Ducati Free Style team.

  • Campagna T-Rex 14RR MotoPhoto - FREE - Is it a sports car or a trike? The Campagna T-Rex 14RR is it's own animal and unique from any other trike on the market today. You'll get a chance to sit in the T-Rex, have your photo taken and later on you can stop back by the booth and pick up your picture of you in the rig.

  • SR! Northwest Motorcycle Display - Never the same display twice, the Sound RIDER! Northwest Motorcycle Display returns to the mezzanine level for the 9th year in a row with the theme - Number 9 Dream. See unique one-of-a-kind bikes from the Northwest you've never seen before and may never see again. This years display will feature several racing sidecars, custom cruisers, a Yamaha FZ6/R6 Bumble Bee sport tourer, numerous dual sport mounts, several tricked out Ducatis, an F1 racinf sidecar (above) and much much more. Plan to make some time to catch all 40 bikes in this display.

  • Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts Display. In the spirit of promoting the heritage of motorcycling, the Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts return again this year with a pristine lineup of original and fully restored bikes dating back through the entire 20th century.

  • Northwest Harvest Canned Food Drive presented by Nikwax - The number one name in waterproofing your gear is pleased to be a part of our 9th annual Northwest Harvest Food Drive. Simply bring a canned food donation to the Sound RIDER! booth on the mezzanine level and we'll provide you a free sample of Nikwax's all new Paste Wax for leather. A great product that waterproofs leather boots and gloves as well as jackets and pants. Of course we'll have entire Nikwax motorcycle line of water proofing products on hand. Many Sound RIDER! readers over the years have made this a regular stop during the show to stock up.

  • David Hough Book & Magazine Signing - David Hough's name is synonymous as the #1 Riding Skills author in the world. David's two Proficient Motorcycling titles and Street Strategies books are the number one selling motorcycle riding skills books on the market. This fall the American Motorcyclists Association is induction Mr. Hough into their Hall of Fame the week before the Seattle show. Stop by the booth, meet Mr. Hough. If you already own his books bring them by for autographing, or pick up a set signed by the author during the show. Keep reading to find out more about a special magazine signing happing during the show.

  • Tom Mehren Book & Magazine Signing - Sound RIDER! publisher and editor is hard as work on his next book, Motorcycling Through Central and Eastern Oregon. While the book won't be ready in time for the show, Mehren will be on hand to sign copies of his other four titles including Dual Sport Rides through Western Washington, The SR! Guide to Motorcycling in the Columbia River Gorge and the travelers companion, Packing Light/Packing Right. Keep reading to find out more about a special magazine signing happing during the show.

  • Special Autographed American Motorcyclist magazines - For the December 2009 issue of  American Motorcyclist magazine, several Sound RIDER! editors were featurd. A profile of David Hough is included to laud his upcoming induction into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame. In addition, Sound RIDER! publisher/editor Tom Mehren wrote the Guest Column at the back of the issue. Both Mehren and Hough will sign your copy of the magazine if you bring it to the show. If you don't currently subscribe, stop by the booth and pick up a copy free with any book purchase at the SR! booth during the show while supplies last.

  • 7 Biggest Mistakes That Can Wreck Your Motorcycle Accident Case - FREE with any purchase - If you have a crash in Washington State, any insurance company is going to try and minimize your compensation, but you can protect yourself by knowing the ins and outs of filing your claim in the state. You get a free copy of the book with any purchase you make at the Sound RIDER! booth during the show while supplies last. That's a $13.95 value.

  • Ladies 1/2 price discount for Friday - Ladies, Advanstar thinks you're special and wants to prove it by giving you half off the price of admission if you come to the show on Friday. Simply CLICK HERE to print out the coupon and turn it in when you buy your show ticket onsite at  the show.

We told you this was going to be a great year for deals. Ladies half off Friday, free Nikwax, a free copy of the December issue of American Motorcyclist, a free book on accident claims - and that's just the beginning.
