Save the dates and enjoy the rides

Seems like as soon as the rally ended in August, riders were already coming to me for the 2016 dates. Ditto when we completed the Sasquatch Dual Sport Adventure Tour in July and again after the Road Trip tour in October. In the past I’ve never released next year’s dates until January or thereabouts. But, by popular request, here are the 2016 event dates for all our events in the coming year.

Cafe to Cafe - March-September

Going on its 8^th year, we’ll once again provide riders with 15 restaurants/targets scattered throughout the Pacific Northwest and a bonus location or two as well. All locations will be new (we have a long list we work through). Then on the 2^nd Saturday in October we’ll gather at Café Veloce to celebrate all the winners. There were many in 2015 and it’s great to see this event continue to grow each year.

Road Trip 2016 - The Columbia River - May 16-20

The plan for 2016 is to move the Road Trip tour into the late spring. Cross your fingers it doesn’t rain, but if it does at least you’ll be riding through one of the most beautiful places on earth. This tour is going to loosely follow the Columbia River from west to east from its mouth all the way to its headwaters in Canada. The exact route is still to be determined, but we plan to plug some museums and interpretive stops in along the way. As always, it will be packed with twisties!

Sasquatch Dual Sport Adventure Tour - The Columbia River - June 13-17

That Oregon trip in 2015 was a nice one. Lots of happy campers with us out in the woods hunting Sasquatch. And as always is the case, we found him on several occasions. You’ve never seen a Sasquatch, have you? Then you need to get on board and come ride this tour. That Road Trip tour plan along the Columbia sounded so tasty we thought we’d offer a dual sport version as well, a month later. Bob O. has already cranked out the first draft on the route and we’ll be tweaking it more in the coming months.

Rally in the Gorge - August 24-28

This will be our 14^th annual rally and third time around at the Hood River County Fairgrounds. Planning has been in progress since the last rally and things are shaping up for a nice event again this year. As always we’ll be changing around the suggested rides, the fun run route and strategy, and putting together a whole new clinic for the Maryhill Loops Road on Saturday the 27^th.

Northwest Motorcycle Exhibit – TBD

Once we know the dates and location of the International Motorcycle show next year, we’ll start working our readers over for bike submissions. Thanks to all those who brought bikes in to Portland in October, it was a nice display with a few crazy ones in there. We will do it again.
