Ladies of Harley

2nd Annual Pathways for Women Charity

The Ladies of Harley will be holding their second annual Pathways for Women charity and our sponsor has deemed February as Pathways for Women month at the Barn. Pathways for Women in Edmonds is a local non-profit women and children’s shelter sponsored through the Y.W.C.A. It depends on a continual stream of donations from people like yourself in order to operate and give needed shelter to women and their children who have been in physically abusive relationships and/or families.

The Ladies of Harley will be helping up to 13 families currently sheltered at Pathways for Women. When these women and children escaped their ordeal, they arrived at the shelter with nothing more than the shirts on their backs. Each resident is given what is most needed from donations collected by Pathways to start over. When they are ready to leave Pathways, they get to take all donations they have received with them to be a part of their new beginning.

This will be a ladies only function for lady riders and lady passengers being held on March 24th, 2001. We will be meeting at the Cycle Barn at 9:00 to load vehicles with donations, (men are welcome to participate at the Barn), and leaving approximately 10:45 or so in order to reach the local facility at 11:00.

We have been asked by the facility to have ladies only deliver the collected donations due to the confidentiality and sensitivity of the residents and their situations. All lady passengers are being asked to participate as our Ambassadors by transporting what is collected, and being the first of our group to arrive, followed by any riders.

How can you help donate?

Choose items from the list supplied. The items on this list are what the facility deems most needed. You should deliver your donation to The Cycle Barn before March 24th, 2001. The collection area at The Cycle Barn is over by the Parts Department. Pathways for Woman are asking the Ladies to contact them prior arrival with an approximate amount of donations so they will have a proper amount of space set aside to collect our donations.

Your donated gifts are tax deductible. Should you want a receipt for tax purposes, please tape your name and address to the outside of your donation. Pathways for Women will see that a receipt is sent directly to you.

Please...donate only items they can use and no trashy or unlisted items. The Ladies of Harley have to go through all donations prior to delivery to rid of trashy and unlisted, unusable items which becomes a timely, undesirable task. Thank you very much for helping the Ladies of Harley touch the lives of women and children in need within our community.
