The Birth of the Northwest Motorcycle Classic

It looked like trouble: after years co-sponsoring one of the Northwest's best swap meets for vintage cars and motorcycles, the car club was leaving the partnership.

The Washington Vintage Motorcyclists (WVM), the bike club backing a meet that drew hundreds of riders to Mount Vernon every April, had to kick-start something new.

Now after a year of planning, the WVM is back with a new event, a new concept and a new location - still focused on finding, restoring and riding vintage-style motorcycles of all kinds.

The new Northwest Motorcycle Classic is set for April 27, 2019, at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds in Lynden, Washington, in the warm, dry Haggen Expo Building. This will be a swap meet, and much more.

"That's why we named it the 'Classic,'" said Bill Stevens, WVM President. "We're showcasing all parts of the vintage motorcycle world. The chance to score and sell old bikes and parts in our swap meet is important, but we also want vintage bike clubs to meet new members, and we invite new and used bike dealers, parts providers and repair and restoration services to show their stuff."

The Classic will feature a bike sale corral, a vintage bike auction and a world-class display of collectible bikes, including some extraordinary and rare Vincent machines. Vintage bike clubs and vendors have already reserved space, Stevens said, and the best remaining spots go to those who step up early.

Admission is $5 per person; parking is free. Indoor stalls 10'x10' are $50 each. Bike sale stalls are $15 per bike. Exhibitor move-in time will be noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 26 ONLY.
