2010 Rally Highlights

Guest Speakers - Enjoy onsite seminars and road clinics with special guest speakers including David Hough (shown right), Lee Parks, Ramey "Coach" Stroud, Tim Bernard, Bret Tkacs, Tom Mehren and others.

Manufacturer Demo Rides - Come ride the latest models from select manufacturers in the midway area of the fairground. The specific dealers at each demo truck are the reason why the demos are here in the first place. If you plan to buy a bike after your demo ride, please work together with the onsite dealer to make your deal.

Rolling Clinics - It's great to take in a seminar onsite during the rally, but our rolling clinics will provide you with useful information you can work with real-time while on the ride.

Vendor Booths - Shop the onsite vendor booths and upgrade your riding gear, luggage, and more. Explore the many options available in lighting, bike setup, optional accessories, and more.

Bike Barn Parking - We have two barns this year that you can choose from to park your bike in. What other rally offers indoor parking?

Saturday Catered Breakfast & Dinner - Our all new caterers feature seasoned chefs that know how to make your taste buds drool with satisfaction. Anticipate a broad breakfast and dinner selection this year that rivals any rally meals we've ever seen elsewhere. These guys do it right!

Moto Mojoe Cafι - Open every morning and early afternoon, get your moto mojo workin' with coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, and more. For lunch, there will be fresh sandwich selections and box lunches can be ordered up a day in advance. It's good, and it's good for ya!

The Ride Board - Located in the Exhibit Hall, the Ride Board will advise you on all the various rides happening each day and allow you to connect with others to ride with. It's a great way to meet new friends.

The Puget Sound Safety Adventure Zone - Join other dual sport enthusiasts at the Puget Sound Safety Adventure Zone nightly for special events, camaraderie and movies. Get in here!

Silent Auction - Come bid on some great gear at our silent auction. The proceeds benefit our Gorge Kids Explorer Fund, which provides money to assist putting together field trips for kids who live here, to learn more about this magnificent area. There's something for everybody.

Door Prizes Part 1 & 2 - We'll be doing two rounds of door prizes this year, on both Friday and Saturday Night, at the Twisted Throttle Main Stage. All attendees will receive a door prize ticket on arrival, and can purchase additional tickets each evening.

The Sound RIDER! Store - Shop the Sound RIDER! store for all the other things you need during your ride. An endless list of items including storage sacks, cooling vests, sun block, hydration accessories, tire repair, first aid, and more await.

Seminar Highlights

Introduction to the Columbia River Gorge w/Tom Mehren - Are you new to riding in the Columbia River Gorge? For this slideshow clinic, you'll be introduced to the Gorge, its history, where it's going, and where the great roads and places are.

Surviving the Backroads with David Hough - Realizing what's going to happen before it does is a key to a better riding experience. And there's no better way to learn it than from the master of riding skills himself.

Body Mechanics Clinics w/Ramey "Coach" Stroud - Beyond the fact that motorcycles have 2 or three wheels, every type of bike requires different body mechanics. Riding a sportbike requires decidedly different body positioning and movement than riding a dualsport, sport tourer, or maxi scooter. Coach Stroud will teach a series of four clinics, each specific to a particular type of bike represented here at the rally. Get in on the one's that are right for you.

Dual Sport Body Mechanics w/Bret Tkacs - Following Coach Ramey's seminar on body mechanics Bret Tkacs and members of Puget Sound Safety will lead interested riders on a two hour dualsport ride to put to use what you learned in class.

Rolling Clinic Highlights

Dual Sport Body Mechanics w/Bret Tkacs - Coach Ramey teaches the classroom clinic at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Following that Bret Tkacs and members of Puget Sound Safety will take you out for the road version. Practice what you learn in class and you may learn a few new things along the way too.

The Secret Ride presented by Happy Trails - Dual Sport Northwest and Tim Bernard of Happy Trails has teamed up again this for a special ride. Last year it was the “Three Buck Ride” and riders were challenged at different stops on how there bike was equipped.

This year Tim has literally “cooked up” a ride of a different sort. You need an Adventure bike, you need basic trail skills, you need to be self-sufficient and most of all you need an appetite. This will be a ride with a special lunch provided and a special tour at a location that is otherwise off-limits. It will be run on Thursday during the rally.

There will be a $25.00 fee for this ride. ALL the money goes to Sound RIDER's special charity for the kids in the Gorge - The Gorge Kids Explorer Fund. Happy Trails is covering the cost of the lunch at the destination.

If you are already signed up for the rally, CLICK HERE to sign up for The Secret Ride. Only Dualsport Northwest participants will be allowed on this ride and wrist bands will be checked before and during the ride.

Ride Highlights

Indian Heaven - Once a sacred place where the Yakima Indians raised horses, you can now ride through this desolate area of forest.

The 3 Rivers Dual Sport - The on-road off-road version of our popular pavement ride, you'll wrap your way around the Gifford Pinchot national forest in scenic style.

The Roads Less Traveled (DS Route) - Planning to go ride the Maryhill Loops Road on Saturday. Get there by way of the Roads less travelled. While the highway provides the fast track, our secret route provides a scenic mix of pavement and gravel.

Table Mountain Explorer - A short ride located near the Fairground makes it a perfect choice for getting used to the local terrain.

Dualsport Fun Run - Our dualsport Fun runs are some of the best. We get you moving across the pavement and gravel and take you to some stunning viewpoints along the way. This year's route crisscrosses between Washington and Oregon.

What's a fun run? CLICK HERE for Poker Run 101.

Need Tires? - All Moto Tire will be taking advance tire orders on a pre-sale basis so they are ready for you when you arrive at the rally. You can order your tires and pay up front to have your tires mounted for free (off-bike) when you arrive. All Moto Tire will have a limited number of race stands for customers to remove and reinstall wheels. (A fee will be charged for All Moto wheel removal and installation). To guarantee delivery of your tires to the rally, go to the web site: www.allmototire.com or e-mail them at allmototire@comcast.net to request a quote.
