The Historic Maryhill Loops Road

Saturday afternoon, come ride a piece of history, the very first paved road ever built in America west of the Mississippi, and the model for future roads to come.

Directions to the Maryhill Road: Are you planning to ride the Maryhill Loops Road Saturday afternoon (or registered for the clinic in the morning)? Take SR14 east to US97. Continue east on SR14 1.4 miles past the Stonehenge Replica/Veterans War memorial. The road will appear on your LEFT shortly after. Turn left and ride up to the gate. You must have a current insurance card specific to you and your bike and a rally wristband in order to enter the road. No bike swapping at the road.

Featured road seminars and rides

  • Maryhill Cornering Clinic (additional fee applies) - Always a favorite, this year's clinic will focus on body positioning techniques. The session is limited to 20 riders. You must be registered for the rally to sign up for the clinic. CLICK HERE To register for the rally and clinic now.
  • Truitt Motorcycle Education presents Advanced Vision Concepts - The eyes are where it all begins when you're riding a motorcycle. If they're in the correct place, everything else can happen as it should, but when they're in the wrong place, that's when things go south. Spend some time learning proper eye placement in the classroom session, then take the ride that follows to practice what you learned on the road.

Additional Clinics, Seminars and Presentations  

  • ProTech Sessions - Open ended sessions from industry pros that will loosely focus on a subject and go from there. Anything tech related to you and your bike goes. Bring your questions and learn insight from the pros and others attending. Grab a cup of coffee from the CMA booth and join in, inside the Community Hall.
  • Accident Scene Managment with Trina Michaelis - Crash Scene Safety instructor, Trina Michaelis provides details about what to do at the scene of a motorcycle crash so more injuries don't occur. Learn what basic trauma supplies you’ll need to treat injuries with life sustaining care. Learn when rescue breathing and helmet removal are necessary, and how to preserve the spine while performing rescue breathing. All that and more in this informative presentation.
  • ProTech Session: Creating the Ultimate On-Road Toolkit with Derek Roberts - Derek Roberts has spent much of the summer talking to sage riders and some of the top techs in the Pacific Northwest compiling information about what makes the ultimate toolkit when you're on a ride. Now he's ready to share his findings and listen to your feedback as well. Join in on this ProTech seminar where there’s something to be learned by everybody.
  • Introduction to the Rally in the Gorge - This slide show presentation will provide new attendees with details about the rally, and useful and historical information about the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area.
  • Suspension Clinic - Always a great way to start the rally. Dial your bike in for the good riding ahead with our suspension experts. Two sessions so you can get one in either way on Friday.
  • Crashing Hurts: Street strategies to avoid becoming another statistic - Shawn Purl of Idaho Star will share the latest crash data from Idaho and cover strategies to avoid or minimize damage to you the next time the situation arises.
  • What to do following a crash - No one wants to crash, but if we do there will be expenses and other considerations. Learn what your rights are as a rider, what your insurance company will cover vand what they won't and how you may be able to recoup lost expenses not covered otherwise. Derek Roberts is a represenatative for Lwa Tigers in the Pacific Notrthwest and will provide insightful information that

Onsite Food

  • Thursday Night Burger Feed - Last year's burger feed provided a great place for attendees to gather and chow down, getting to spend time with old friends and meet new ones as well on the front end of the rally. Well.. you asked for it, you got it again!
  • The Rally Kitchen & Cafe - Join us as per the schedule and refuel yourself in the on-site Rally Kitchen & Cafe. There are daily breakfast, and dinner options, lunch service on Wednesday when you arrive and always new specials each day. See schedule for hours of operation.
  • Sunday Morning Pancake feed - We do it right with Pancakes, scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, fresh local fruit and plenty of coffee and juice! Get a good meal in before heading out on Sunday.
  • CMA Coffee Service - Attention early risers, make your way over to the CMA tent and grab a cup of complimentary Starbucks coffee every morning.

Rally Features

  • Maps and GPS Tracks - This year we'll have five suggested pavement rides and five suggested dual sport routes available as paper maps and GPS tracks, available for download to your device via our computers. Come see us at the front desk inside Community Hall. Fun Run maps and tracks will be available on Saturday morning prior to the start of the fun runs.
  • Need more rides? Order yourself a copy of our Paved or Dual Sport Gorge guides before you come, or pick one up when you arrive.
  • On-site Vendors - Shop with our visiting vendors and outfit you and your bike with the gear you've been needing.
  • Oregon Raceway Park Tour and Parade Laps - Here's your chance to tour and ride the track at Oregon Raceway Park to the east of the rally site in Grass Valley. You'll need to show your wristband for entry. Use our special paved back road route to get there. Tour starts at 11 sharp. Don't be late.
  • Saturday Night Bike Show – Did you buy a motorcycle, only to spend as much as you paid for the bike, or more, on accessories and so on? Or do you own the epitome of a rat bike? Well then, you need to submit your motorcycle into our Saturday Night Bike Show and show us what you've got.

Rally Games

  • Rally Fun Run - We never use the same route over again. Our fun runs connect together some of the best roads in the Gorge. This year we have an all new route that'll have you grinning ear-to-ear from checkpoint-to-checkpoint. Separate pavement and dual sport routes. Aim to win part of the combined purse of $300. Winners must be present during the evening program.
  • Street Competition with Cascade Motorcycle Safety - Pavement riders can sign up at the Cascade Motorcycle Safety booth to compete in the Saturday night Street Competion which will take place on the southeast pavement stripe side-by-side with the Barrel Roll Competition.

Evening Fun

  • Door Prizes - Arrive on time to our evening program and you may win one of our many door prizes provided by our vendors and sponsors.
  • Moto Video Festival - We've spent all year compiling a video mash-up like no other. Road racing, adventure touring, snowbikes, wins, fails and more are all here during the Moto Video Festival each night. Complimentary popcorn will be on hand and you can purchase $3 scoops of ice cream with optional fruit infused balsamic shots at no extra charge.
