Welcome to the official Sportbike Northwest website! Take a moment to join the SBNW mailing list at the right so you get all the news as it happens.

Sportbike Northwest is a five day sport bike rally in the Columbia River Gorge held every summer.

The Skamania Fairgrounds in the town of Stevenson will once again host our event and we look forward to five days and four nights of too much fun.

The rally began in 2003 as a means to fill a void, overnight sportbike rallies of any magnitude are few and far between in the Northwest.  Read our About SBNW page for more details.

Sponsorship makes this event possible. Find out who our current sponsors are and contact us if you're interested in being a sponsor as well.

When you're out on your bike several days, it never hurts to get a few travel tips to better your experience.

All new Fun Run

We've never repeated the same fun run route twice, so it's always new year after year. This year's fun run wraps itself 200 miles around Skamania county along a massive series of serpentine roads.

Rolling Clinics Return

It's one thing to take in a seminar in a classroom format, it's another to do it live on the road. Our unique rolling clinics, provided by some of the areas top instructors, guide you to your next level of riding skills by allowing you to practice what you learn and get feedback, if needed, where real world riding happens - on the road.

  • Advance registration is open.
  • In November 2011 Sound RIDER! was recognized as the AMA Road Event Promoter of the year during it's celebration of Champions awards event in Las Vegas. We've worked hard to put on a good event for 10 years running.
  • Watch this news column to see developments for this years rally as they happen.

Lee Parks Returns to Sportbike Northwest

If you're a sport bike rider, it's only a matter of time before the name Lee Parks gets tossed around during discussions about riding skills. Lee's popular book, Total Control fits right in with books by others like Nick Ienatsch, Reg Pridmore and Keith Code. In recent year's Lee has expanded on the book's content taking the training to the track and street with his popular Total Control training courses. We're pleased to have him back with us for 2013.

Ends of the Earth Fun Run

In the Columbia River Gorge there a many roads that eventually result in a dead end. Few riders ever go explore them, but some of these tentacles make for excellent riding, so we're going to give you good reason to seek them out. Whether you live in Portland, Oregon or Portland, Maine - chances are you haven't ridden these roads yet. Join us this summer for our Ends of the Earth Fun Run, an all new 200 mile route guaranteed to get you turned around -- at least five times!

Featured Presenter: Mike Sullivan

The best way to learn to ride a sport bike better is to learn from a pro. Our AMA sanctioned rally has hosted a number of AMA champions over the years including Reg Pridmore and Nick Ienatsch.

But we have our own hometown hero here in the Northwest in Mike Sullivan. Sully is one of the most down-to-earth and nicest guys you'll ever meet to come out of pro racing. He continues to teach today and will provide a special rolling clinic focusing on throttle control during the rally. Don't miss it!

Maryhill Clinic

As always, the Historic Maryhill Loops Road will be open to all registered riders the afternoon of Saturday August 3rd from 1-4 pm at no additional charge. But if you want really work on your riding skills, for the 5th year in a row, Puget Sound Safety & Lee Parks will be running a closed clinic in the morning. You must be pre-registered to sign up for this clinic. Registration for this clinic will open in June.

New Rides

The beauty of the Columbia River Gorge is enhanced by the fact that it boasts hundreds of miles of twisties. Because of this, our suggested rides change from year to year. It's not possible to ride all the great roads here in a single rally, so we mix it up year-to-year. All attendees get free ride maps complete with turn-by-turn directions and riding skills tips. Optional MapSource GPS files are available for download once you arrive.
