"Sportbike Northwest may be America’s most unique motorcycle event." American Motorcyclist

Welcome to the official Sportbike Northwest website! Take a moment to join the SBNW mailing list at the right so you get all the news as it happens.

Sportbike Northwest is a five day sport bike rally in the Columbia River Gorge held every summer.

The Skamania Fairgrounds in the town of Stevenson will once again host our event and we look forward to five days and four nights of too much fun.

The rally began in 2003 as a means to fill a void, overnight sportbike rallies of any magnitude are few and far between in the Northwest.  Read our About SBNW page for more details.

Sponsorship makes this event possible. Find out who our current sponsors are and contact us if you're interested in being a sponsor as well.

When you're out on your bike several days, it never hurts to get a few travel tips to better your experience.

"A good time rally that focuses on improving your skills rather than just the party: A++ in my book." Rob E - Mill Creek, WA

ALL NEW FUN RUN

We've never repeated the same fun run route twice, so it's always new year after year. This year's fun run wraps itself 200 miles around Skamania county along a massive series of serpentine roads.

ROLLING CLINICS RETURN

It's one thing to take in a seminar in a classroom format, it's another to do it live on the road. Our unique rolling clinics, provided by some of the areas top instructors, guide you to your next level of riding skills by allowing you to practice what you learn and get feedback, if needed, where real world riding happens - on the road.

Get updates on Sportbike Northwest as they become available.

2012 News

Now in its 10th year, Sportbike Northwest is the West Coast's premier multi-day sportbike rally. • Advance registration is open now.
  • In November 2011 Sound RIDER! was recognized as the AMA Road Event Promoter of the year during it's celebration of Champions awards event in Las Vegas. We've worked hard to put on a good event for 10 years running.
  • Watch this news column to see developments for this years rally as they happen. Later in the spring we will release the official 2012 schedule.

NICK IENATSCH RETURNS TO SPORTBIKE NORTHWEST

A favorite guest speaker at SBNW in 2008, Lead instructor for Yamaha Champions Racing School, Nick Ienatsch, will return to Sportbike Northwest this summer. His racing resume includes two AMA SuperTeams national championships with Two-Brothers Racing and Erion Racing, four top-three annual finishes on Yamaha’s TZ250 in AMA 250GP competition, two No. 1 plates from Willow Springs, three Grand National Championships with WERA and podiums in AMA 600 SuperSport. Don't miss out on his numerous clinics and presentations that will occur throughout the rally.

DEMO RIDES RETURN FOR 2012

Demo rides are back for this years event. Enjoy time checking out the latest from BMW, Triumph, Piaggio and the new electric wonders from Zero motorcycles. It's only February so you may see some other names added on as well. Thanks to our rally vendors at Cycle Barn and South Sound BMW for making these demo rides possible.

MARYHILL CLINIC 2012

As always, the Historic Maryhill Loops Road will be open to all registered riders the afternoon of Saturday August 4th from 1-4 pm at no additional charge. But if you want really work on your riding skills, for the 5th year in a row, Puget Sound Safety & Nick Ienatsch will be running a closed clinic in the morning. You must be pre-registered to sign up for this clinic. Registration for this clinic will open in June.

LAGUNA SECA TO SPORTBIKE NORTHWEST ROUTE

With the West Coast Moto GP races being held the weekend before Sportbike Northwest, there will be riders who will want to attend both. But don't fast track the ride between using the Interstate or some other obvious route. We're busy crafting our own special route and will have it ready for all those who have pre-registered by June.

T SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this year's Rally in the Gorge, we'll be giving everyone that signs up in advance before June 1st a FREE commemorative rally shirt. But we need a good design and history has shown there are some very creative individuals among our rally goers. So take a stab at creating the 2012 Rally in the Gorge shirt design and if your design is chosen you will be provided 4 rally entries (a $500 value) so you can bring three of your best friends to this year's rally with you. CLICK HERE for the guidelines.

NEW RIDES

The beauty of the Columbia River Gorge is enhanced by the fact that it boasts hundreds of miles of twisties. Because of this, our suggested rides change from year to year. It's not possible to ride all the great roads here in a single rally, so we mix it up year-to-year. All attendees get free ride maps complete with turn-by-turn directions and riding skills tips. Optional MapSource GPS files are available for download once you arrive.
