Register for the 2008 Sport Touring Northwest Rally!!

For the 3rd year Sport Touring Northwest will take place amidst the many vista points, deep canyons and serene terrain of the Columbia River Gorge. Join us again this year in the Gorge for four days, three nights and too much fun as we ride the back roads of Washington and Oregon in late August. Run simultaneously with Sportbike Northwest, come ride the roads that you never knew existed.

Rally Highlights

Scenic rides and beauty

The setting is like no other. Nestled in the Columbia River Gorge (along the Columbia River on the border of Washington and Oregon) you’ll experience a broad range of, terrain, unique geological features and scenic vistas. Ride hundreds of miles of fantastic roads and experience the magic that is the Gorge.

Guest Speakers, Clinics and Seminars

Each year we feature an impressive collective of guest speakers, clinics and seminars.  Improve your GPS skills, get inspired by our travel speakers and learn tips and tricks for long range riding.

Full Service Fairground & Community

The rally is held at the Skamania County Fairgrounds in Stevenson Washington.  The fairgrounds feature all the facilities to make your experience a pleasant one including fully equipped restroom & shower facilities, spacious tent camping area, and RV hookups (small extra charge).

Like-minded Camaraderie

Throughout your four day experience you’ll enjoy the company of other sport touring enthusiasts, share your knowledge and gain from theirs, meet new riders and leave wanting more.

Relax during our evening programs which include a silent auction, informative travel presentations, movies, door prize giveaways, fireside chats and more.

Sport Touring Northwest is held in the Columbia River Gorge along the Columbia River between Portland and Goldendale in the scenic town of Stevenson, WA at:

These maps provide the fastest route to the fairground.  You may get creative beyond that if you're so inclined.

ARRIVAL INFORMATION

1. Enter the fairgrounds from the north side at the Rock Creek Center entrance. CLICK HERE for a map of the fairgrounds.

2. Park your bike in the Dam Bike Barn. If you are bringing a trailer or toy hauler, unload your bikes in the parking lot, place them in the Dam Bike Barn, then park your vehicle in the RV camping area.

3. Make your way to the southeast building, the Exhibit Hall and check in at the registration desk.

4. Be sure to read the fairgrounds rules in the program (comes in your rally pack when you check in) before you setup your campsite.

Want to come into the area early?

Registered attendees are not allowed on the fairgrounds until 9 a.m. Thursday 8/21. If you want to come in early camping is available across the river at the KOA or Port of Cascade Locks Park. See you Thursday.

2008 News Update

Rump Roast - UPDATE

We tell you the destination but it's up to you to figure out how to get there. That’s all part of the fun of the 2nd annual Rump Roast ride, a 500 mile, 12 hour journey that takes a little bit of rear-end endurance and some cunning ingenuity to finish on time and score big. Click here for details.

The Book is Back

This year each rider will receive a copy of the brand new 3rd edition of the Sound RIDER! Guide to Motorcycling in the Columbia River Gorge as a part of their arrival package.  This spiral bound book features more than a dozen rides through the Gorge and will include all the recommended rides.

GPS Routes

MapSource GPS Route files will be made available at the rally in two ways. You may request a download of the day's suggested ride(s) at the front desk in the Exhibit Hall, or purchase a flashcard complete with all the poker run routes and rides included in the SR! Guide to the Columbia River Gorge for just $12. The card will include more than 25 routes in all!

Covered Parking in the DAM Bike Barn

It's back again this year. Sponsored by the Folkestad Brothers, creators of the Dam Tour, the DAM Bike Barn is one of the only covered parking areas we've ever seen at a rally.

200 mile poker run

An all new route with all new checkpoints, our 200 mile poker run will no doubt take you on roads you’ve never ridden before.

Win A New BMW F800GS!

Everyone who registers for Sport Touring Northwest will be entered into AMA's national contest to win a BMW Motorcycle.  Just one more reason to make this rally.

On Site Shipping Services

New this year, we will be providing shipping services at the fairgrounds for any items you want to ship home that won't fit on the bike.

Professional Photography Services

We will have two professional photographers on hand. PH-M will be selling prints to interested attendees daily. Check in nightly to see if you were snapped that day. RJS-S will be available for setting up photo sessions both on the road or at the fairgrounds.

Massage Services

We will have two professional massage services at the rally this year. Book your sessions early.
