2009 HIGHLIGHTS (look for 2010 info soon)
Manufacturer
Demo Rides - Come ride the latest models from select manufacturers
in the midway area of the fairground. The specific dealers at each demo
truck are the reason why the demos are here in the first place. If you
plan to buy a bike after your demo ride please work together with the
onsite dealer to make your deal.
Vendor Booths - Shop the onsite vendor booths and upgrade your
riding gear, luggage, and more. Explore the many options available in
lighting, bike setup, optional accessories and more.
Outlaw
BBQ - Some of the best barbeque in the Northwest comes from a tiny little
place just to the west in Gresham. Outlaw BBQ has been dishing up fine pulled
pork, ribs and other assorted favorites for more than a decade. We're thrilled
to have them with us throughout the rally. For this event they will expand their
menu beyond their store offerings and run the beer garden in the evenings.Moto Mojoe Café
- Open every morning and early afternoon, get your moto
mojo workin with coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, smoothies and more. For
lunch there will be fresh sandwich selections and box lunches can be ordered up
a day in advance. It's good and it's good for ya!
Guest
Speakers - Enjoy onsite seminars and road clinics
with special guest speakers including David Hough
(shown right), Reg Pridmore, Ramey "Coach" Stroud, Tim
Bernard, Bret Tkacs, Tom Mehren and others.
The Ride Board - Located in the Exhibit Hall, the Ride Board will advise
you on all the various rides happening each day and allow you to connect with
others to ride with. It's a great way to meet new friends.
Bike Barn Parking
- We have two barns this year that you can choose from to park your bike in.
What other rally offers indoor parking?
Silent
Auction - Come bid on some great gear at our silent auction. The
proceeds benefit our Gorge Kids Explorer Fund which provides monies to
assist putting together field trips for kids who live here to learn more
about this magnificent area. There's something for everybody.
Door Prizes Part 1 & 2 - We'll be doing two
rounds of door prizes this year on both Friday and Saturday Night at the
Twisted Throttle Main Stage. All attendees will receive a door prize
ticket on arrival and can purchase additional tickets each evening.
Saturday Catered Breakfast & Dinner - Our

buds drool with satisfaction. Anticipate a broad breakfast and dinner

those interested.

hydration accessories, tire repair, first aid and more await.
Seminar Highlights
Introduction to the Columbia River Gorge w/Tom
Mehren - Are you new to riding in the Columbia River Gorge. For this
slideshow clinic you'll be introduced to the Gorge, its history, where
it's going and where the great roads and places are.
Making the Connection w/Reg Pridmore -
Riding your motorcycle can only get better and better. By improving your
skills and understanding the dynamics of the bike eventually you and the
motorcycle have the ability to become one. Make the connection.
Smooth Riding w/Reg Pridmore - Finding the
fine line between throttle and braking control. Come learn it from the
man who wrote the best selling book on the subject.
GPS Basics w/Tim Bowman - This GPS seminar
is designed for new and intermediate users of GPS devices
Setting up your Sportbike for the long ride
w/Tom Mehren -There are many options available to make a sportbike
more comfortable on a long ride. Peg positioning, handlebar height, seat
options, gear placement and more will be discussed in this seminar.
Body Mechanics Clinics w/Ramey "Coach" Stroud
- Beyond the fact that motorcycles have 2 or three wheels, every type of
bike requires different body mechanics. Riding a sport touring bike requires
decidedly different body positioning and movement than riding a
dualsport, sportbike or maxi scooter. Coach Stroud will teach a
series of four clinics each specific to a particular type of bike
represented here at the rally. Get in on the one's that are right for
you.
Rolling Clinic Highlights
Let's Go Moto Photo w/Tom Mehren - Yeah,
sure, we can tell you how to take good pictures in a classroom setting,
but why not do it live on the road. Tom Mehren will lead this rolling
clinic through some scenic areas and teach you some secrets to better
photography.
Maryhill Cornering Clinic provided by Puget
Sound Safety - While everyone will have the chance to ride the
Maryhill Loops Road on Friday afternoon, a select few will have the
chance to participate in a special cornering clinic on Friday morning.
There is an additional fee and you must be registered for the rally by
June first to be invited. Spaces are limited so act fast. We will hold
one additional space which will be auctioned off to the highest bidder
on Thursday night before the clinic.
Pavement Body Mechanics w/Bret Tkacs - This
rolling clinic picks up where Coach Ramey's Thursday afternoon seminar
leaves off. Be sure to get in on both.
Ride Highlights
Five Peaks - The 78 mile Five Peaks ride
takes you through some awesome twisties, past waterfalls and to an
overlook where you'll get a fantastic peek at five peaks.
Rowena Curves - As the Cascades flow east
the climate changes from a dense wooded region to a dry desert. Along
the Rowena Curves you experience this blatant change as you wind your
way along historic Highway 30 where every turn features a minimum 100
foot radii and a constant 5% grade leads you through some of the finest
cornering in the Northwest. Repeat as necessary!
Twisties,
Dinner and a Star Show 09 - In the Gorge it's possible to ride some
fine tertiary twisties in the late afternoon, have a bite to eat and
then look through the largest Cassegrain telescope open to the public.
We know where to go and we'll get you there with an all new route.
The Roads Less Travelled - For years we've
ridden to and from the Goldendale area (site of Maryhill Loops Road)
along Highway 14. And over time we've explored the many backroads that
provide a less travelled and slightly longer ride to get there. If
you're ready to skip the RV's and semis on Friday grab our map for The
Roads Less Travelled.
200 Mile Poker Run - Our 200 mile poker runs are some of the best. We get you
moving through the corners and always have some nice scenery to enjoy
along the way. This year's route crisscrosses between Washington and
Oregon.
What's a poker run?
CLICK HERE for Poker Run 101.
Rump Roast 300 presented by Rich's Custom Seats - In anticipation of more
riders participating, we've bumped it down from 500 to
300 miles long. This years Rump Roast ride provides
participants with 10 locations to ride to. Along the way
riders document their visit to each with a photograph or
receipt. How you get there is up to you. Locations are
provided the night before the ride. A good atlas is
advised. GPS' and laptops can be used for this event but are not
required. Each
person completing the route and hitting all 10 locations
will receive a commemorative certificate and will be
entered to win their choice of a $25 gift certificate to
Snake River Farms or a $50 gift certificate to Rich's
Custom Seats. Take your pick - go for the beef or the
seat!
Need
Tires? - All Moto Tire will be taking advance tire orders on a
pre-sale basis so they are ready for you when you arrive at the rally.
You can order your tires and pay up front to have your tires mounted for
free (off-bike) when you arrive. All Moto Tire will have a limited
number of race stands for customers to remove and reinstall wheels. (A
fee will be charged for All Moto wheel removal and installation). To
guarantee delivery of your tires to the rally, go to the web site:
www.allmototire.com
or e-mail them at
allmototire@comcast.net to request a quote. All Moto Tire will send
an invoice which can be paid using PayPal or with a personal credit
card. Paid orders must be received by July 20, 2009.
