At Sound RIDER! we’ve always wanted to be involved in local events and have even gone so far as creating some of our own. Below is a run down of what’s on tap for 2007, where to find us and what we’re up to.

Inland Motorcycle Show - February 23rd – 25th

Now into its fourth year, the Inland Motorcycle Show is also know by some as the Spokane Motorcycle Show. We’ll be on hand with a booth space and it’s a nice chance for us to meet many of our readers outside the western side of the Northwest. A bit different from the show in Seattle, this shows is more dealer-oriented and less manufacturer-oriented which simply means you can work face-to-face with a dealer onsite if you’re interested in purchasing a new bike. There’s also plenty of customs included in the Buzzards Buzz Off custom show. For this year the show will be held in the brand new Spokane Convention Center. Visit www.spokanemotorcycleshow.com

Governors Run - May 5th & 6th

Each year the two-day Governors Run raises money for the Hollyridge Center on the Kitsap Peninsula. The event includes a ride and find (scavenger hunt), poker run, Saturday night food and entertainment. We’ll be on hand with a booth and may be providing a seminar or two this year. More details on that later. Visit www.governorsrun.net

Sound RIDER! Hotelin’ It Tour - June 25th – 29th

This five-day tour of Washington will take riders through over a thousand scenic miles of Washington state. No interstate, plenty of great food and accommodations and a journey you won’t soon forget. More details coming soon.

Ride West Insurance 3 Pass BLA$T/Starlight Children’s Ride - July 14th

This year we’re running the 3 Pass BLA$T and Starlight Children’s ride simultaneously. You can choose to ride one or both since the route will be identical. The 3 Pass BLA$T will be a time/speed/distance endurance run as it’s always been and the Starlight ride will be a poker run. The checkpoints are shared. The events end in the Grand Coulee region of Washington with a steak feed that night, the laser show at the Dam and special tour of the dam for participants the following morning. We’ll also provide a few suggestions for the route home.

Sound RIDER! Rally Week in the Gorge

The four events listed below all take place at the Skamania County Fairgrounds in Stevenson, Washington.

  • Sportbike Northwest August 23rd – 26th

Now in its fifth year, Sportbike Northwest promises to be a bit bigger and even better this year. With the recent cancellation of the SBW rally in British Columbia, we anticipate a few more Canadian plates on hand this year. A recent scan of the search engines revealed that many clubs already had the 2007 date on their calendar. Triumph plans to return with their demo truck and several other OEM’s have been in touch about having their trucks on hand, too. This year’s poker run will be held on Friday because we’ll be running a full day program out at the Maryhill Loops road on Saturday. The poker run route is scenic, twisty and will take you on a tour of Oregon you’ll never forget. Returning guests speakers will be Brett Tkacs of Puget Sound Safety with another suspension tuning seminar; Brad Alan of Lines: The Movie fame; and David Hough and Coach Ramey Stroud will pair up to teach a riding session of performance cornering skills. Registration opens in February.  More details at www.sportbikenorthwest.com

  • Sport Touring Northwest August 23rd – 26th

Sport Touring enthusiasts will once again share the Skamania County Fairgrounds in Stevenson, Washington for a weekend of great riding, scenery, seminars and good times. Onsite agenda items include touring presentations from a number of the editors at Sound RIDER! and some special guests. Riders will have a chance at riding the historic Maryhill Loops road Saturday afternoon, taking a fantastic poker run route on Friday and experiencing some of the most beautiful roads in the Western United States. Registration opens in February. More details at www.soundrider.com/stour/rally

  • Dualsport Northwest August 26th – 29th

Now in it’s third year, the Dualsport Northwest rally provides attendees a chance to see the Columbia River Gorge like never before – along the many gravel roads off the beaten paths. The Tuesday Poker Run route will be all new and a number of guest speakers are returning including Tim Bernard from Happy Trails and Ramey Stroud from the Cascade Endurance Center. Registration opens in February. More details at www.soundrider.com/dsport/rally

  • Maxi Scoot Northwest August 26th – 29th

Is there any better place to ride a Maxi Scooter than between Washington and Oregon along the Columbia River? We think not. Last year attendees came from as far away as Wisconsin to enjoy this four-day fun fest. Whether it’s the rides that go on in the daytime, the evening events or the general camaraderie that prevails throughout, this is one event a maxi scooter owner won’t want to miss. Registration opens in February. More details at www.soundrider.com/nwse/rally

Sound RIDER! Tentin’ It Tour September 10th – 14th

Get ready for five days of motorcycle camping at its finest. We simplify things by utilizing just two campgrounds so we have a base to make our rides from.  More details as they become available.

So save a date or two and we'll look forward to spending some time with you!
